What Live Coloring Book keeps about you, why we keep it, and what you can do about it. We keep as little as we can.

Who we are
Live Coloring Book is made by Lomboos d.o.o., Franje Petračića 6, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia (VAT ID HR16661234572), which also makes Drawize. We decide what happens to the information on this page, and we answer for it.

Playing without an account
Anyone can color, set drawings free, join a family book and make friends without an account and without telling us who they are. Your browser gets a random key, kept in a cookie, and we keep what you make under that key: the drawings you color and their colors, the ones you set free and the names you give them, the name you choose for yourself, which friends see on what you share, the family book you join, your friends, your invitation code and the friends you removed, the drawings you give to someone with a link, the links you make to show a drawing to friends, and the challenges you send or answer, where a friend colors the same drawing as you. Such a link shows only the drawing, its name and its world, never who you are, and stops working when you stop sharing it, give the drawing away or remove it. A challenge also shows your name and keeps the drawing as it was when you made the link; a friend who answers it keeps their drawing, with their name, beside yours, you both see the two, and you become friends. Your friends see your drawings and your name, and nothing else about you; either of you can end the friendship. A challenge takes no more answers once you stop it, give the drawing away or remove it.
A name can be picked from our word lists or typed. A typed name, for a drawing, for yourself or on a gift card, is sent to WebPurify (webpurify.com), which checks it for words that aren’t right for children and for contact details; it gets only the name. A name is kept and shown only if it passes. We keep what the check said, for up to 90 days, under a fingerprint of the name that can’t be turned back into it, so the same name isn’t checked twice.
Your browser keeps its own copy of all this too, so the app is quick and works offline.
If you bring a paper drawing to life, its photo is read on your device and never sent to us: only the colors read from it are used, like colors you pick on screen, with a few numbers for each shape saying how it was colored in (how much paper shows, how fine or coarse the strokes are, which way they run, how blotchy the color is and how much it gathers at the edges), so that everyone sees the drawing with crayon, pencil, marker or paint strokes drawn to match. These numbers are kept with the drawing like its colors; they describe how it was colored, never what is on the sheet. So that the drawing’s video can open on your real sheet, that browser keeps a straightened picture of the sheet and the drawing cut out of it, on your device only, until you let the drawing go, give it away or sign out. While your drawing flies into its world, the drawing cut out of the photo is held in that browser tab for the few seconds this takes, and then deleted. A video of a drawing is made on your device as well, and goes only where you share or save it.
If you start or join a party screen, we keep the party for as long as it is used and delete it a day after the last thing happens in it (a classroom year keeps its class world until a month after the year ends): its code, its world, which browsers joined it under their random keys, and the drawings sent to it with their colors and their names. Nothing else about you is kept. A drawing photographed from paper is read on the phone as above, and only its colors are sent. A drawing you keep from a party becomes yours like any other.
If you report a problem with Report a problem, we keep what you send: the kind of problem you chose, the words you type and, unless you leave it out, a picture of the drawing or the world as it was on your screen, with the spots you marked. With it we keep where it happened (the page, the world and the drawing), your browser’s random key, the language, the size of your screen, the kind of browser and device, and the version of the site. We use it only to find and fix problems, never share it, and delete it after 12 months.
We also keep the country you play from, as a two-letter code, with your play record, to understand where players come from. Cloudflare, our network provider, estimates it from your internet address and tells our server only the country; we don’t keep the internet address. If you later play from another country, the code changes. We use it for nothing else.
We also keep the kind of device you play on and its system, for example “Android phone”, with your play record, to understand what players use. Your browser tells our server what it is; we work out the kind (phone, tablet or computer) and the system from that, and keep only those two, never the description itself. If you later play on another device, they can change. We use them for nothing else.
Accounts
An account keeps your drawings, books and anything you buy safe, on every device you sign in on. Accounts are for people aged 14 and over, or for a younger child whose parent or guardian signs in for them. When you create one, we keep:
- your email address, if you sign in with email;
- your password, if you choose one, stored only as a salted hash that can’t be turned back into the password;
- if you sign in with Google or Apple, the id they give us for you, the email address they share (Apple may share a private address that forwards to yours), and your name if they share it;
- when you signed in, and how each browser you’re signed in on describes itself, so the file of your data shows where you signed in.
Buying
Payments are handled by Paddle (paddle.com), which sells our products as the merchant of record. Paddle takes your payment details, your email address and your country, and sends your receipt; we never see your card. We keep what you bought, when, and Paddle’s reference for the payment.
When you buy a gift, we keep the names you type for its card, which only that gift’s card shows, and its code; we ask Paddle for your email address to send you the gift.
Children
Live Coloring Book is for all ages, and many of our players are children. Children can play without an account. The only thing anyone can type is a name, and every typed name is checked for words that aren’t right for children and for contact details before anyone else sees it. There’s no chat, and books are joined only with a link or code someone chose to give.
A child under 14 can have an account only when a parent or guardian signs in with them and looks after it. If you think a child has given us personal information without that, write to us and we’ll delete it.
Emails
We only email you when you ask: a sign-in code, a link to choose a new password, a gift you bought, and a note when your password changes. They’re sent through SendGrid. We don’t send advertising, and we don’t track whether you open our emails or click their links.
Cookies
We use the cookies the site needs to work: to keep your browser’s key or your sign-in, to remember your language, whether this browser has a book and your answer to our cookie banner, and to protect forms and sign-ins. They aren’t used to follow you anywhere.
Google Analytics’ own cookies (_ga, and _ga_ followed by letters) are set only if you accept them in the banner at the foot of the page, where Accept and Reject are equally easy. Until you accept, nothing from Google loads. You can change your answer at any time with Cookie settings, at the foot of every page. We remember it for six months, then ask again.
Counting visits with Google Analytics
We count visits and what happens in the game ourselves, on our own server, and keep those counts for 13 months: a visit, with the kind of site it came from and the page it landed on; a drawing colored for the first time; a drawing finished, set free or given; a checkout opened; and a purchase with its amount. To see how they change over time, our server also sends these counts to Google Analytics, a service of Google Ireland Limited, for every visitor, without any cookie on your device.
With each count goes a code our server makes from your browser’s random key with a secret key of ours, so it can’t be turned back into your key (or a one-time code, if your browser has no key yet); the page as our site names it, never the code of a gift, an invitation or a book; the kind of site a visit came from; and your country. Our server never sends Google your internet address, a description of your browser, your email address, your name or any code.
If you accept cookies, Google’s script also runs on our pages. It counts the pages you open and the time you spend on them, under the same code, so you are counted once. Like any request on the web, it reaches Google with your internet address, which Google uses to estimate your country and region and, Google says, doesn’t store. If you reject cookies, or don’t answer, Google’s script never loads.
Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and nothing we send is used for advertising. Google processes this data for us under its data processing terms, collects it in the European Union, and may also process it in the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Google Analytics keeps it for 14 months.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how our pages are used, so we can fix the places where people get stuck. It records clicks, taps, scrolling and how the page looks, with anything typed into a field hidden. Until you accept cookies it uses none, and each page is recorded on its own; if you accept, it may set its own cookies to join up the pages of one visit. Microsoft processes this data for us, may process it in the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and keeps recordings for 30 days and its statistics for 13 months.
Who else handles it
We share information only with the services that run parts of Live Coloring Book for us, each for its own part:
- Cloudflare, which delivers the site and protects it from attacks, and sees your internet address;
- Paddle, for payments, gifts and receipts;
- SendGrid, for our emails;
- Google, which runs Google Analytics for us, as described above;
- WebPurify, which checks the names people type, and gets only the name;
- Google and Apple, only if you choose to sign in with them;
- our own servers and database, which store everything described here.
How long we keep it
What you make stays until you remove it or delete your account. A browser stays signed in for up to 180 days after you last used it, and codes and links from our emails are deleted after two days.
Records of purchases are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after you delete your account, but without your name or email address.
Our servers note internet addresses and sign-ins to keep accounts safe from misuse, and delete those notes after 30 days.
Why we may keep it
We keep what you make and your account because you ask us to, to run Live Coloring Book for you; records of purchases because the law requires them; notes of sign-ins, and the counts we send to Google Analytics, because we have a legitimate interest in keeping accounts safe and in understanding how the site is used; and Google Analytics’ cookies only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Your choices
On your account page you can download everything your account holds, as a file, and delete your account. Deleting it removes your drawings and your place in books, on every device, and stops Premium from renewing.
You can also ask us to show, correct or delete what we keep about you, or object to how we use it, by writing to support@livecoloringbook.com. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its date, and tell account holders by email before important changes apply.
